National Sports Week 25th to 29th June

National Sports week is soon approaching and is from 25th to 29th June. The Youth and Sports Trust and their new partnership with Entertainment One and PJ Masks are hosting National Sports week events in schools. The week includes events led by PJ Masks Power of 3 activities inspired by the strengths of the three main characters: Catboy, Owlette and Gekko, a superhero trio of friends who embark on action-packed adventures using their superpowers of agility, strength and flight. The initiative aligns with YST’s core mission of ensuring that every child has the best sporting start in life, by helping them develop their agility, balance and coordination – the foundations for physical health and well-being, and a happy and active life.

As part of National Sports week we have two exciting events happening.

Race for Life

On Wednesday 27th June we are hosting a Race for Life in support of Cancer Research UK.

More details are being sent out in a letter today.

SAFC Sports Cage Challenge

On Friday 29th June we are working with SAFC Foundation of Light and will be running a Sports Challenge. The Sports cage will be in school all day and challenges set. The money raised from the event will be split between the school and the Foundation. The Foundation use the funds raised to provide opportunities for individuals, schools and groups in the community to take part in sport. There will be many prizes to win. The Fastest shot in each class will receive a trophy. The highest fundraiser in each class will receive a trophy. The Highest fundraiser in the school will receive a signed shirt. The Sports cage will be available for parents to join in at the end of the school day.

World Cup Themed Lunch

On Friday 29th June the school meals service will be running a special “World Cup” promotion. The offer will consist of a choice of “Ronaldo Kickin’ Chicken” or “Messi Fish Goujons” served with chips & peas followed by a “Hat-trick of fresh fruit & ice cream” or “Goalie Choc Chip cookie” . Participants will be given a free activity sheet and themed sticker on the day.

If your child does not normally have school meals please check to see if they would like a meal on the day and inform the school office if they wish to join in the fun.
