Phonics
Our Year 1 children – and some of our Year 2 children – will be taking their statutory phonics check next week. These checks will be carried out by each child’s class teacher on a one-to-one basis and will assess each child’s knowledge and understanding of letters and sounds. Regular reading and learning spellings homework will help prepare children well for the check.
